How Can You Help?
We are seeking energetic, responsible people who are passionate about eating local foods, building community, and helping the one-in-four children in Oregon who are hungry.
Sign up to be a harvester, site scout, neighborhood coordinator or harvest leader. Help us have successful fruit-picking adventures while meeting neighbors and making new friends.
Picker
- Sign up for harvest parties and help pick fruit, nuts and berries.
- Keep half of what you pick. The rest will be donated.
Ladder Transporter
- Help transport orchard ladders to and from harvests. A pickup truck or a car with a sturdy roof rack are needed to do this job.
Harvest Assistant
- Help at large harvest parties with signing in pickers and weighing out their fruit.
Harvest Leader
- Scout new harvest locations.
- Lead harvest parties during the summer or fall.
- Bring boxes and a scale provided by your neighborhood coordinator.
- Greet and introduce harvesters, and collect signed volunteer waivers.
- Weigh the fruit and drop off half the harvest at the nearest neighborhood food pantry.
